I became a Christian in 1994. I began working in the Mental Health field that same year. I also worked and served in various ministries including: inner city learning centers, local outreach events, missions with Mexican Orphans and a Chilean Youth Center, and has taught Christ-centered martial arts. I am currently the owner of a counseling business called Shield Expressions and more recently, a corporation called Fullness in Christ.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. I am a licensed therapist, counseling though BetterHelp and providing psychotherapy and counseling with adults and some adolescents through private practice.
I specialize in treating women with anxiety and depression, as well as Christ-led prayer and Christian Counseling with Christian clients. I also specialize in teaching, coaching, and mentoring Christian women to grow in their faith, knowledge and intimacy with God. I am actively involved in various ministries with prayer, growth, healing and restoration.
I also specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and use skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well. I have experience working with people of many cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
The therapeutic relationship is very important to the success of therapy or counseling. I have a non-judgmental, warm and engaging therapeutic style. I hope that I have an opportunity to meet with you, to see if we are a good fit. In cases where I am not the best fit, I am happy to provide resources to help you find what you need.
